Flooring in Irvine and Newport Coast

The floor you see depends on the base you do not: flat, sound and dry. We check it before we recommend anything.

Choosing a floor

Different rooms ask different things of a floor. Entries see grit, kitchens and baths see water, living areas see daily wear and sunlight. We help you match the material to how the room is used, then check what is underneath before installation is scheduled.

What we check before installing

  • Is the base flat, solid and dry enough for the product you chose?
  • How will the new floor meet doors, thresholds and neighboring rooms?
  • What care does the finished floor need, and do you have the manufacturer's instructions?

How we run it

A field technician visits, measures and checks the base. You get a written scope that names the product, the installation method and what is included, such as removal of the old floor and transitions. Plumbing, where needed, is done by a licensed plumber we coordinate, and other trades are coordinated too, so the floor goes in last and goes in once.

Limits worth knowing

If the base fails the check, the answer might be repair, a different product or a different method. We would rather tell you that at the visit than after the floor is down.

Common questions

Can new flooring go over my existing floor?

Sometimes, depending on the product and the condition of what is underneath. We check the base for level, soundness and moisture before recommending an installation method.

Which floor suits a kitchen or bathroom?

Match the floor to water and wear. Kitchens and baths see moisture, so ask whether both the product and the installation method are made for wet areas.

What about concrete floors?

Concrete needs its moisture and surface condition checked before anything is installed over it. That is the step most often skipped, and the most expensive to skip.
